Honoring their service
Every eligible veteran is entitled to military funeral honors, and to benefits that recognize their service. The details can be confusing at a difficult time — which forms, which cemetery, who to call. That's where we step in. We coordinate the honors and help you claim the benefits your loved one earned, at no guesswork to you.
Military honors & VA benefits
The ceremony
For eligible veterans, the Department of Defense provides military funeral honors — the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the family, and the playing of Taps by at least two uniformed service members. We coordinate this with the appropriate military branch.
Burial benefits
Eligible veterans may receive burial in a VA national cemetery at no cost — including the plot, opening and closing, a government headstone or marker, and perpetual care — or a headstone/marker and burial flag for a private cemetery, plus a Presidential Memorial Certificate.
How we help — and what you'll need
We'll verify eligibility, request the honors from the correct service branch, help you choose between a national or private cemetery, and prepare the VA paperwork on your behalf.
Bring the discharge papers if you can The most helpful document is the veteran's discharge certificate (DD Form 214). If you can't locate it, don't worry — we can help request it. We'll guide you through everything else, step by step.
Veterans' honors FAQs
What military funeral honors is a veteran entitled to?
Eligible veterans are entitled to, at minimum, the folding and presentation of the U.S. flag to the family and the playing of Taps, performed by at least two members of the armed forces. We coordinate these honors with the veteran's branch of service.
Are VA burial benefits really free?
For eligible veterans, burial in a VA national cemetery is provided at no cost to the family — including the gravesite, opening and closing, a government headstone or marker, and perpetual care. Benefits for private-cemetery burial and possible allowances vary; we'll help you understand what applies.
What document do I need to claim veterans' benefits?
The veteran's discharge papers (DD Form 214) are the key document. If it's missing, we can help you request a copy so nothing holds up the arrangements.
Can you help even if we choose cremation?
Yes. Military honors and VA burial benefits are available with cremation as well as burial. We'll coordinate honors and benefits either way.
