Bonnie Faye Tartaro, 79, of Amarillo, passed away surrounded by her family on September 25, 2026. She was born on April 6, 1947, in Turkey, Texas to Buford Preston and Ethel Thelma (Hill) Eudy.
She found great joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. One of her favorite traditions was taking her great-grandson to lunch, cherishing their time together and staying connected. She loved baking with the grandbabies, tending to her garden, getting lost in a good book, and enjoying movies. In her younger years, she found comfort and inspiration in putting her thoughts and feelings on paper, often expressing herself through poetry. Her deep love of family, appreciation for quiet moments, and thoughtful, creative spirit beautifully reflected the remarkable woman she was.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Preston and Ethel Eudy; sisters, Patsy, Joyce, Jackie, Nora and Janie; a son-in-law, Michael Stewart; and her husbands, Michael Upchurch, and Anthony Tartaro.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lynn Burris and her husband Nathan; her grandchildren, Chelsea Riles and husband Josh, Casey Stewart and wife Morgan of Okinawa, Japan, Jon Burris and wife Ashbie, Nick Burris and wife Angela of Wright City, Missouri, and Caitlyn Eckiss and husband Cameron; 15 great-grandchildren, Dorien, Mason, Courtlynn, Madison, Finley, Braelyn, Journey, Ella, Everlynn, Jasper, Charlie Faye, Jensen, Dorothy, Phinehas, and Franklin; a brother, Preston Eudy and wife Mildred, and multiple nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., in Amarillo.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at His Church, located at 6300 Arden Road, in Amarillo. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery East, at the corner of 34th and Arthur Streets.
