Cleater May Cooks, 70, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on July 28, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1956, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Roscoe and Sarah Guest.
Cleater was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She loved spending time with her family. Cleater loved her family so much that she would have sacrificed her own wants to help others. She loved doing volunteer work. She enjoyed her many hobbies of painting, decorating, and walking. Cleater would say “Put God first, love, wait. Be prepared to receive what God sends. Thank you, Lord.” She will be deeply missed.
Cleater was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Sarah Guest; older brother, Jesse Ray; and sister, Sarah Kay Brazier.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Avenue, Amarillo, Texas, 79102. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at the same location.
