Deanna Lynn “Howell” Nelson (68) of Amarillo, passed away on October 26, 2024. She fought a long and hard battle and has finally been reunited with the love of her life forever in Heaven.
Deanna was born January 18, 1956, in Maquoketa, IA and married the love of her life and soul mate, John Nelson II on June 17, 1978, in Borger, TX. She was a loving wife of 30 years to her husband, a wonderful mother to her children, giving them all she had. Deanna was known as “Mom” to all the neighborhood kids and to all of her kids’ friends as well while they were growing up. Her home was open to everyone she met, and she would give whatever she had if you needed it. She loved the Lord with all her heart, all the way up until the time HE called her home. She will be truly missed, but no longer in pain, and she is flying with the angels. She loved arts and crafts, bible studies, being around friends and family, and of course the Green Bay Packers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Nelson II; her father, Marion Howell; her mother, Elaine Snodgrass; her brother, “Doc” Howell; and her son, Nicholas Howell.
Survivors include her daughter Miranda, and husband Jerry Blackburn; her son, Christopher, and wife Keri Nelson; her son, John Nelson III, and wife Dawn; her son, John Nelson IV, and fiancé Shay; and her son, Jayden Nelson. Also surviving her are her brother, Jesse Howell and wife Debbie; her brother, Ted Howell and wife Mindy; her sister, Donna Nelson and her sister, Sue Shelton. Deanna also loved her granddaughters Sienna Blackburn, Naomi Hernandez-Chapa, and Chelsea Ramsey, and her grandsons C.J. Ramsey and Caleb Howell. She will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends, new and old.
Memorial services will be at Memory Gardens of Pampa, in the chapel, at 2pm on Friday, November 15, 2024.
“Love you to the moon and back Momma.”

“She was the best mother a child could ask for, she took care of her family the best she knew how, and loved dad to the day she passed away to be with him, and loved the Lord with all her heart. I miss you my momma. Fly high with the angels”
