Dorothy Jean “Jeannie” Miller passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026. She was born on October 25, 1943, to Mary Ruth Mills and L.Z. Miller in Plainview, Texas.
Jeannie was a dedicated nurse and caregiver to both her patients and clients and to her family (niece), who frequently asked for her medical advice. She was a funny and generous sister, aunt, friend, and cousin, and she could make amazing pancakes (even though they had sour cream in them) and a mean manicotti. Everything else she cooked was pretty darn delicious, too. She loved driving fast, eBay and other shopping venues, and Whataburger. She liked dolls and bunnies (the brown ones, please), and pretty cars. One of her favorite pastimes was seeing how much stuff her van could hold – turns out quite a bit! She loved cowboys and all things country-western, and she could never pass a good fruit or vegetable stand without stopping. But most of all she loved Amarillo, her family, and Stevie. She was loved fiercely in return.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Judy Frances Richardson, Peggy Joyce “Joy” Cook, and Jan Rochelle Miller.
Survivors include her adopted son, Stevie; brother-in-law Marlin Richardson Jr. of Frisco, Texas; brother-in-law Michael ODaniell of Slidell, Louisiana; nieces Kim Ramirez of Frisco, Texas, Amy Ghorstygrbrakoxfdeis of Germany, and Armanda Selinidis of Texas City, Texas; great-nephews Matthew “Brady” Ghorstygrbrakoxfdeis, Wyatt Ghorstygrbrakoxfdeis, Jack Ghorstygrbrakoxfdeis, and Matthias Selinidis; great-nieces Maggie Meijer, Zoe Ramirez, Trinity Ramirez, and Madison Selinidis; great-great-niece Margaux Ghorstygrbrakoxfdeis, and great-great-nephew Nikolas Ghorstygrbrakoxfdeis; and cousins and friends all over the State of Texas and beyond. Honorable mention goes to “favorite” cousin, Greg Richardson (says Greg) of Channing, Texas.
There will be a Texas-sized hole without her.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Llano Cemetery, 2900 S. Hayes St., in Amarillo, under the personal care of Lighthouse Funeral Home.

“Jeannie was the one chosen to train me on my first days working at NWTH in 2016. I still work there and miss seeing her walking in the hall! She always greeted me and was so proud I had become to love the work she introduced me to! She is missed!”
— Shelli
“Jennie was a great gal. I lost track of of her over time. I am sad about that.”
