Jose Manuel “Manny” Marquez

Jose Manuel “Manny” Marquez, 42, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was born on September 7, 1981, in Amarillo to Antonio and Dolores (Escoto) Marquez.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2024, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo Texas. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Manny was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan. He was outgoing, outspoken, and free-spirited. He was a giant teddy bear who loved big! He was always mindful to check on his family and friends. One of his favorite pastimes was to BBQ and spend quality time with family and friends. He will truly be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Dolores Marquez; his grandfathers, Carlos Marquez and Antonio Escoto; his brothers, Israel Marquez, and Joel Marquez, and a nephew, Jesus Marquez Jr.

Manny is survived by his wife, Veronica Rubio; his son, Fredarius Rubio; a grandmother, Angie Escoto; his siblings, Anthony Marquez, Irene Rodriguez and husband Bobby, Jesus Marquez, Selina Gomez and partner, David Bustos, Carlos Marquez, and spouse Abe Martinez; 10 nieces and nephews, and 8 great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his emotional support dog, Lexi.
