Maria Zepeda

Maria Zepeda, 73, of Amarillo, passed away May 10, 2024. She was born in Rio Hondo, Texas on December 16, 1950, to Narciso and Josefina Gonzales.

She loved to play pool! She enjoyed cookouts and loved to eat Mexican food. One of her favorite pastimes was drinking coffee while watching NCIS, Chicago PD , and Yellowstone . Maria was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

She adored her grandchildren and cherished spending time with them. Church was her favorite place to be. Maria was a down to earth person who would do crazy things to make those around her laugh.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Janie Morales.

She is survived by four sons, Ponciano J. Zepeda, Jr., Ray Zepeda, Thomas Zepeda, and Alexander Zepeda; three daughters, Rosemary Guerrero, Olivia Ruiz, Amanda L. Zepeda; 23 grandkids and 18 great-grandkids. She is also survived by her siblings, Alicia Murillo, Mike Gonzales, Juan Manuel Gonzales, Raul Gonzales, Fernando Gonzales, Jesus Gonzales, Anita Gonzales, and David Gonzales.

A Memorial Service celebrating Maria’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Messiah’s House Church, 6901 Bell St. Amarillo.
