Marilyn Eileen Holguin

Marilyn Eileen Holguin, 62, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 20, 2026. She was born on November 9, 1963, in Quincy, Illinois, to Carol Edward Deeter and Mary Madonna Swanson.

Marilyn went to college to study art. She loved to draw and do art. Marilyn worked in home health, where she could help people as best she could. This profession is where she retired. She loved listening to all types of music whenever someone came to her home.

Marilyn loved driving around for hours. She loved being around her family and friends, laughing and telling stories. Marilyn was always there for others and always took care of them. She loved being around her Melvin and cat, “Callie.”

Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Carol Deeter; mother, Mary Deeter; brother, Larry Deeter; and sister, Wanda Deeter.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Pickens; son, Daniel Wright; daughter, Crystal Davis; son-in-law, Chris Davis; granddaughter, Rylee Davis; and siblings, Evelyn Cantrell, Barbara Jones, Steve Deeter, and Kenny Deeter.
