Martin was a son, father, Popo, grandpa and husband. But that’s not all he was. He was the lifeblood of our family. A veteran who truly touched everyone he came across. A man who so many looked up to. He brought so much joy to everyone with his witty jokes, playful manner, and that bigger-than-life smile. His wife, kids and grandchildren were his world. He was truly a sports fanatic. He loved his LA Dodgers, Buffalo Bills, and Ohio State Football. Most of all, he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olegario Flores Sanchez, on April 4, 1996, his mother, Ramona Garcia Rodriguez, on December 6, 2002, and his sister, Juanita Flores, on May 17, 2007.

Survivors include his wife, Connie Arenas Sanchez; sons, Martin Sanchez Jr., and Jonathan “Chunk” Arenas and wife Samantha; daughters, Maritza Escoto, and Vanessa Arenas Fortier and husband Jason; sisters, Christine Shreffler and husband Dale, and Dina Cordova and husband Ernie; brothers, Olegario Sanchez, Jr. and wife Nancy, Frank Sanchez, Prageres Sanchez, and Rudy Martinez and wife Josephina; grandsons, Andrew, Christopher, Derik, LaDarius, Drayden, Josiah, Xavier, and Ricky; granddaughters, Aaliyah, Abbie, Haley, Berkley, Aniyah, and Myah; great-grandchildren, Emily, Hunter, and Azmerae; nieces and nephews, Suzy, Tye, Monica and Tim and many other family and friends.

“He was my next neighbor for 10 years,…he and Connie are the best neighbors! They would let my daughter come over and swim anytime she wanted. I watched baseball games with Martin as well as a couple of super bowls…. He was such a sports fanatic! Always had a huge smile on his face and always so so kind to my daughter and I! He waved to me almost everyday…. I’m sure gonna miss that. He was such a special guy and MAN did he love those grandkids! RIP best neighbor ever!”
