Miguel Eduardo Mendoza, 41, was born in Roswell, New Mexico, on Wednesday, July 17, 1985, to his mother, Alejandra Armida Mendoza. On Friday, September 18, 2026, he took his final rest while on his last run.

Miguel, often called “Big Miguel” or “Mendoza,” grew up between Roswell, New Mexico, and Amarillo, Texas. Miguel attended high school at Palo Duro High in Amarillo and Roswell High in New Mexico. From elementary to high school, Miguel was always outside with the neighborhood kids, either playing sports in the middle of Apple Street or cutting class to cruise Main Street to get stranded at the lake somewhere. The shenanigans are many.

In February 2004, Miguel met Victoria Renae Mendoza, who would become the most influential person in his life. She showered him with love, praise, and motivation, and they had two children. In 2004, the couple moved to Texas, where Miguel ultimately earned credits at Amarillo College and later obtained his Commercial Driver’s License in 2009. His CDL led him to many friends he kept for years. His friends spanned his time as an order-puller for Affiliated Foods Inc. and his 20-plus years as a Texas trucker with companies such as AFI/PTG, Jax Transportation, U3 Transportation, and most recently CCM Trucking.

Miguel had many hobbies, including collecting guns and Hot Wheels, attending rap concerts, car and truck shows, and various festivals and state fairs.

In late 2025, Miguel and Victoria set a goal to obtain their motorcycle licenses, which they achieved in May 2026, and they purchased their own motorcycles. They planned to attend their first car show on the weekend of Miguel’s passing, as they had recently joined the Mi Familia car club. The couple loved hosting family gatherings, opening their home for any occasion. Their home was regularly full of laughter, games, food, and drink, with family and friends.

Miguel was a dog dad to Khloe, Roxie, and his most beloved Dakota Reign Mendoza. Dak was the ultimate Road Dawg, always accompanying Miguel on truck runs in their 2015 Freightliner Cascadia or everyday errands in their Chevy Avalanche.

Our beloved Miguel will join in death his grandmother, Juanita Gutierrez; his mother, Alejandra Mendoza; and father, Bernabe Perez, along with his cousins, Mosses Rivera, Guisel Perales, Gladys Rivera, Efrain Nunez, Martin Martinez, Fernando Medellin, and very close friend, Isaac Morris.

Miguel will be missed by everyone, especially his wife, Victoria R. Mendoza; his son, Miguel Eduardo Mendoza II, and his daughter, Natalia Raquel Mendoza; his siblings, Ricardo Mendoza, Luis A. Perez, Crystal Perez, Miguel Rivera, Jesus Rivera, Pedrillo Rivera, and his best friend of over 25 years, Joshua Cano. Miguel also leaves behind a sea of friends, coworkers, and extended family: the Mendozas, Medellins, Riveras, Nunez’s, Villas, and Cordovas.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., in Amarillo.
