Norma Bustoz-Mendez, “Mama,” 56 of Amarillo passed away on June 16, 2025. She was born in Amarillo on May 23, 1969, to Paulo and Frances Bustoz.
Norma worked for Walmart and retired after ten years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Norma enjoyed dancing, going out to eat with her family and grandchildren; and watching wrestling, including her favorite wrestler, Jey Uso(Yeet). She would stay up late watching movies on television. Norma loved getting her hair and nails done. She loved her three fur babies. Norma will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She brought such laughter to them all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paulo P. and Frances S. Bustoz. Norma is survived by her husband, Albert Mendez; three children, Megan Alexia Zuniga and husband Toby, Paul Efrem Sandoval and wife, Jessica, and Abriem Isaac Gonzales; her sisters, Irma Bustoz, and Paula Bustoz; five grandkids, Azia, and Zade Zuniga, Ean and Eli Sandoval, and Javian Gonzales. Auntie was deeply loved by her nephews and nieces, Ryan, Anthony, Alexia, and Rihana; her great nephew Xavier, and her great-niece Iris.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Lighthouse Funeral Home, 3707 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo.
