Petra Medrano, 80, of Amarillo passed away on August 1, 2025. She was born July 24, 1945, in Edcouch, Texas to Rudolfo and Felipa (Josso) Rios.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Lighthouse Funeral Home.
Petra Medrano was the strongest lady to have walked this green earth. She loved gardening, cooking and shopping, but most of all she loved to make people laugh. She loved talking to people, getting to know their lives through their stories. Her heart was so big and kind she was very selfless, always willing to give everything and anything she had. The love she received and felt from her loved ones meant everything to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nieves Medrano; her parents, and a brother and sister.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Romana Moore, Frank Medrano, and Jose Nieves Medrano; ten grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her siblings.
