“Dad loved to fish and did so as much as possible in Oklahoma and more recently on a ranch in Texas. He worked at the Family Life Center for years and enjoyed playing pool with anyone willing to be beat by him.

He loved to drive! He drove all over the country for many years for A-D Mortuary. He treasured his red Toyota Camry and was still driving it to Braum’s daily for his shake!

Dad loved to cook. He cooked for many years in Glorieta for groups from First Baptist. We had family fish fry’s at the Farm in Panhandle. Yearly, dad was hands down the best catfish fryer.

He was a loving father and devoted husband. Dad will be missed by so many people.

Dad was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, MaryBeth, and his youngest daughter, Elizabeth; his parents, and three brothers.

His survivors include a sister, Pat Strickland and husband Gary; his daughters, Kathi Weger, and Cindy Combs and husband Eric; his son, Porter Crawford, Jr.; his grandchildren, Eli, Adam, Jacob, Will and Grace-Ann; eight great-grandchildren, and many friends that Porter loved as family.

“Porter & Mary Beth were SO dear to Brent and Me. We taught 7th Grade Sunday school with them for probably about 15 years. We were newly weds when we first started teaching 7th grade. We did an over-night retreat at the High Plains Retreat Center and a trip to the Oklahoma City WaterPark every year! Porter is the best cook and I still make bacon in the oven like he taught me – but I never mastered his awesome gravy!!! Mary Beth was like a second Mom to me and gave me lots of advice on how to be a help-mate to Brent. They were an awesome Team and Power-couple for the youth!!! What a legacy they left in Their family and friends!!! Praying for your family as you prepare to celebrate Porter’s life!!! ❤️🙏🥰”

“I would like to say how sorry I am to hear this. Porter had such an impact on my life in the youth and adult while attending church at FBC that I will forever cherish. “Cindy & Family I am saddened to hear of Porter’s passing. My mother loved Mary Beth and we were also saddened by the news years ago about her passing. Porter was a great source of entertainment and joy for me and my father so many years ago. What a great storyteller he was. In his honor, I will walk out right now and check the oil in my car… He would have liked that. All my love and fond affection to your entire family. Don Kile”
