Robert Dale Taylor passed away on November 20, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. He was surrounded by family and went home peacefully listening to Kris Kristofferson.

Born to Max and Judy Taylor in Hurst, Texas, on July 5th, 1974, he was late to the fireworks and late to everything after. He was the beloved little brother of Valerie. Although she asked for a chicken, not a little brother, she learned to love him anyway.

Robert was raised in Pampa, Texas, where he played baseball, football, and any arcade game he had enough quarters for. He was an avid reader and even had book recommendations the day he passed. For many years, he worked (or provided free labor) at his family’s mechanic shop, Rudy’s Automotive. He held various odd jobs throughout his life, but truly found his passion in being a pain in the rear.

The greatest gift of his life was his daughter Sierra, who was born in 1994. By his own words, she was the only thing he did right. They spent many years watching The Simpsons, hunting White-Tailed Deer, and listening to everyone from Willie Nelson to Sir Mix-a-Lot.

Robert found some of his greatest joy in being Uncle Robert to several disobedient children. At many points in his life, he could be found telling them to “act like they had a brain” and then convincing them to do something ungodly, which we are unable to mention here.

Memorial to be announced at a later date – but in the meantime, have a drink of Maker’s Mark, smoke a Marlboro Red 100, and enjoy a cold morning in his honor.

If he owed you money, sorry about your luck.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Valerie Taylor Roberts, and his parents. Survivors include daughter Sierra Greenslade and her husband, Chuck Greenslade of Denton. Life-long friend and brother Jason Roberts and his wife, Jennifer, of Pampa. Several generations of beloved nieces and nephews, including David Gale O’Brien III of Allen, Kaitlyn Taylor O’Brien of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Beloved family and friends, Laura and Clint Noland, Nikki and Lathum Daughtry, and several who would rather not be publicly associated with him.
