Ruben Perales

Ruben Perales, 55, of Amarillo, passed away on September 15, 2020. He was born June 14, 1965, in Hereford, Texas to Cruz Perales and Maria (Maggie) Zamora.

A Celebration of Ruben’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at New Life Outreach Ministries, located at 406 Pittsburg Street in Amarillo. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of Lighthouse Funeral and Cremation Services. The family will receive visitors on Monday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church.

Ruben was a kind, loving soul. He loved everyone for the way they were. He was not judgmental, and accepted everyone that he was around. He enjoyed spending time with his great nephew, Trey Salazar.

He loved his Dallas Cowboys. He was a big Beatles fan, and loved rock music, along with Tejano music. He loved playing his base guitar. He was a very smart man. He had a degree in Science and Biology.

He was preceded in death by his father Cruz C. Perales Sr., and his sister Rosario Perales-Loya.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Jesse and Maria (Maggie) Zamora; his sisters, Anna Rivera of Amarillo and Juliana Alvarez and husband Jorge Hernandez of Amarillo; a brother, Cruz Perales Jr. of Amarillo, and a cousin Lupe Briones. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
