Sheila G. Melton

Sheila G. Melton went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 12, 2026. She was born on December 11, 1950, in Abilene, Texas, to Al and Ruby Redwine Mills.

She grew up in Childress, Texas, where she attended school. She met Roger Melton in high school, and they later married on July 2, 1970. Sheila enjoyed playing the piano by ear. She also enjoyed listening to religious and country music. She liked spending time outdoors with her family, including camping, trips to New Mexico and Oklahoma to visit tourist sites, and time on the lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Ruby Mills; her brothers, Roger Mills, Mikey Mills of Childress, Texas, and Monty Mills of Shamrock, Texas; and a special niece, Kelly Rhea.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Roger, and son, Tim; her sister, Brenda Klapper and family of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Mike Mills and spouse Cynthia of Amarillo and their family, and Ricky Mills of Childress and his family. She has two grandchildren, Hunter Melton and spouse, Daisy, of Childress, and Stormy Simmons and spouse, Tucker, of Plainview. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren, Rayny, Zander, and Celeste.
