Born in Amarillo on October 9, 1960, to Morris Archer and Rosa Romero, Starla was a true Texan through and through. Her vibrant spirit and steadfast love for her community and family made her a beacon of warmth and joy to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Starla was a woman of immense resilience and grace. Widowed at a young age, she had the strength to navigate life’s storms with unyielding courage and optimism. Her husband, Adolphus Clayton, was her partner in all things and his memory lived on in her heart long after his passing. As Helen Keller once said, “What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Starla embodied this sentiment, carrying her love for Adolphus and their shared memories with her every day.
Despite the hardships she faced, Starla’s spirit remained unbroken. She was a beacon of light for those around her, radiating love and kindness in the face of adversity. Her life was a testament to the power of resilience and the enduring nature of love. Starla will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and the entire Amarillo community.
