Timothy Lee Rasmuss, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on June 25, 2026. He was born on August 16, 1959, in Tokooka, Saitama-ken, Japan, to Wesley Samuel and Lorene Charity (Thomas) Rasmuss.

Tim started his career at Texas Tech and achieved a PHD in Physiology and Sociology. He enjoyed his career, especially in helping others. After retirement, he also worked at the State Supported Living Center for many years, during which he was a Phycologist and later retired a second time after many years of service.

He enjoyed many hobbies including trading cards, games, and creative woodworking. He also enjoyed gathering with his friends locally, including his lifelong friend, Zach, who was more like family to him. He loved his pets, especially his dog, Yoshi, and his hairless cat, Roo, and another cat he got after Roo had passed. His beloved pets, for certain, brought much joy and companionship to him throughout the years.

He was a very humble and modest man with a great sense of humor and a bit of sarcasm. He had a way of making one laugh until you cried! Timmy is loved and dearly missed by his family and close friends.

We will have a time of reflection and celebration of his life online via Zoom, TBA, for family and close friends. We welcome all to attend who have any photos or special memories they would like to share, or to add to his page in memory of our Uncle Tim. We will post the date and time on his Facebook page. Our family would like to thank all who have been a part of our Uncle Tim’s life over the years. Our prayer is that his soul may rest in peace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lorene Rasmuss; his siblings, Lucille C. Hodge, James N. Shelton, Geraldine Kruger, Donnie R. Shelton, and Mary Lou Dockery.

Tim is survived by his nieces, Cindy Farrah, Genevive Willis , Kimberly Shelton, Colleen Bird, Suzanne Dubois, and Katrina Glover; his nephews, John W. Shelton, James Shelton Jr, Kurt Kruger, and Wesley Dockery, as well as numerous other family members including, great-nieces and nephews.
