Vicki Marie Snelgrove, 70, of Amarillo, Texas, went to her heavenly home on August 9, 2026. Her journey began on February 15, 1956, in Denver, Colorado, when she was born to Marie Williamson and Jack Harvey.
For more than five decades, Vicki was the friendliest, funniest, and hardest-working waitress in town. She had a legendary talent for making everyone feel right at home, usually by serving up a side of playful harassment alongside their meals. She especially loved teasing her male customers, a brilliant strategy that always secured her the highest tips. At home, the teasing didn’t stop—the men in her family were her favorite targets for her endless wit and affection.
Vicki’s heart belonged entirely to her family. As a loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, she treasured every moment spent with the people she loved. Though she loved being with her family, she notoriously operated on her own timeline; anyone who wanted her to be on time somewhere knew they had to tell her the event started at least an hour earlier than it actually did.
She brought color, laughter, and fun to life, whether she was listening to Randy Travis, rooting fiercely for the Denver Broncos, or traveling down the yellow brick road with The Wizard of Oz, Vicki knew “there was no place like home.”
She leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love in the hearts of her 3 children, Jason Weiland (wife Daysi) of Orlando, Florida, Troy Weiland (wife Carolyn) of Peoria, Arizona, and Sheree Snelgrove (boyfriend Chris) of Amarillo, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Huruvel Weiland, Angel Weiland of Orlando, Florida, and Jalena Padilla of Amarillo, Texas; 4 great-grandchildren, Trenton Doan, Damian Doan, Melody Doan and Willow Zambrana all of Orlando, Florida; her mother Marie Williamson of Amarillo, Texas; 3 sisters, Linda Martinson, Jackie Mills (husband Rodney) of Amarillo, Texas, and Beckie Carey (husband Mark) of Livingston, Texas; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, along with a great-great niece and numerous friends. She was welcomed into eternity by those who preceded her in death, her father Jack Harvey and brother Guy Harvey.
Please join us to celebrate Vicki’s wonderful life on August 14 at 10:30 am at Hillside South, located at 6917 S Bell St., Amarillo, Texas 79109. Lunch will follow the service so we can continue celebrating a woman who was truly one of a kind.
