Consumer Rights
The FTC Funeral Rule is a federal law that protects families arranging a funeral. It guarantees clear pricing and the freedom to choose only what you want. Here's what it means for you — and how we honor it at Lighthouse.

Enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, the Funeral Rule has protected consumers since 1984. Its purpose is simple: you should be able to compare prices, understand exactly what you're paying for, and buy only the goods and services you want — not a bundled package you don't need. We believe in this so completely that we publish our full price list online.
Know your rights
Right 1
You have the right to receive a written, itemized General Price List, and to get price information over the phone. You can see the cost of every item before you decide.
Right 2
You're not required to buy a package. You may choose only the individual goods and services you want (with limited exceptions, like a basic services fee).
Right 3
You may buy a casket or urn elsewhere, and the funeral home must use it without charging an extra handling fee.
Right 4
Embalming is not required by law in most cases. A funeral home may not tell you it's mandatory when it isn't.
We go beyond the minimum. Our full General Price List is published on our website, so you can review every fee privately, at your own pace, before you ever contact us. We'll happily quote prices by phone, explain each item plainly, and help you build an arrangement around only what matters to your family.

In most cases, no. Embalming is rarely required by law, and a funeral home cannot falsely claim it's mandatory. It may be needed for certain services, and we'll always explain when and why.
Transparent by choice
We publish our full price list because you deserve clarity. Review it any time, or reach out and we'll answer every question honestly.
